Oxford University Development gathers 100+ innovators and entrepreneurs
Oxford University Development hosted innovators and entrepreneurs at Modern Art Oxford for an event on 14 November 2023. Over 100 people from all walks of life convened to forge new relationships and ideas to inform the evolution of the innovation district – from tech entrepreneurs, community activists, artists, business leaders, researchers, students and social impact startups, young and old.
Thought leadership and provocation was provided by an engaging line-up of speakers:
- Jo Goodall – founder of luna app – world’s first digital health companion for teens
- Jodie Eastwood – CEO, London Knowledge Quarter
- Rawz – MC, poet, sound artist from Blackbird Leys
- Micaela Tuckwell – Exec Director, The Ultimate Picture Palace – community-owned independent cinema
- Amy Lockwood – CEO, Oxford Hub
Attendees discussed the strengths Oxford has to build upon, what more we must do to build a more equal city, and the innovation that can come from sharing assets and creating together.
Tables were facilitated by Oxford University Development, Oxford Social Enterprise Partnership, Grassroots Music Project, Waste Innovation Station (WISH), Make Space Oxford, Oxford University Innovation, EnSpire.
Thanks to all the attendees for a brilliant first event demonstrating the culture and opportunity to be nurtured in Oxford West End.
