Botley Road bus and cycle enhancements

Enabling infrastructure

First phases delivered and further phases proposed (to be funded)

Partially funded

The project

Highway improvements that aim to reduce bus journey times and provide a safer and more attractive route for cyclists and pedestrians.

The opportunity

These improvements are made to encourage more people to use buses, cycle and walk. These changes will also help handle the expected increase in people moving along this route.

Progress

A first phase of works has been delivered for a length between Westway and Lamarsh Road adjacent to Botley Road Retail Park.

A scheme that connects under the rail bridge between Mill Street and Frideswide Square will be delivered as part of the Network Rail proposals for the new Western Entrance.

Future phases have been designed for but are currently unfunded.
